Data concerning flora; vegetation and macrolepidoptera fauna from the oak forests-natural reserves of Hunedoara County (Romania)

The report concerns an introduction to flora, vegetation and macrolepidoptera fauna of the oak forests – natural reserves from Hunedoara County, Romania. The results of the investigations of flora, vegetation and macrolepidoptera fauna from the oak forests – natural reserves are discussed. The sites are situated in the Poiana Ruscă Mountains and Hunedoara and Haţeg Depression. The diversity of the plant species varies considerably among the sites: 351 species were recorded at Bejan Forest, 231 at Slivuţ Forest and 186 at Chizid Forest. Of particular interest are: Aristolochia lutea, Parietaria officinalis, Dianthus giganteus, Euphorbia epithymoides, Potentilla montana, Hesperis sylvestris, Alyssum petraeum, Cerastium brachypetalum, Rorippa pyrenaica, Galium flavescens, Asperula cynanchica, Crocus banaticus, Vinca minor, Tamuscommunis.
314 Macrolepidoptera species have been identified, in the habitats of the oak forests: the Bejan Forest-Deva, the Slivuţ Forest-Haţeg, the Chizid Forest-Hunedoara. Ecological considerations are presented. Some rare species in these area are recorded: Catocala sponsa, Minucia lunaris, Marumba quercus, Quercusia quercus, Gryposiaaprilina
