The symbol hat individualized the family of Corvin was also used in numismatics, on the golden and silver coins minted on the time when this Romanian family had a first-rate role in the political and military life of Transylvania and of Hungary, through Iancu de Hunedoara at first, then through his son, Matia Corvin, who will take the throne of Hungary during 1458-1490.

The raven with a ring in its beak is pictured either alone, or, most of times, included in the arms of Hungary.
