Articolul se doreşte a fi o incursiune prin minunata lume a cărţilor, mai ales a cărţilor interzise, pentru care în trecut pentru interzicerea lor s-au alcătuit adevărate reguli, comentarii, observaţiuni. Am putea spune că interesul pentru lectură al baronului Samuel von Brukenthal a fost unul şi acelaşi cu interesul omului secolului al XVIII-lea, care dorea să cunoască cât mai mult despre orice domeniu nou. Interesul pentru lectură manifestându-se în secolul Luminilor prin ceea ce cercetătorii în domeniu au numit furia lecturii. Autoarea prezintă un exemplar de Index Librorum Prohibitorum care cuprinde toate formalităţile oficiale, obişnuite în vreme, pentru interzicerea cărţilor.
The article is intended to be a foray into the wonderful world of books, chiefly that of forbidden books, for whose ban one drew up real rules, objections and comments im the past. One could say that the interest for reading of the Baron von brukenthal was one and the same with the interest of the 18th-century man, who wished to be acquainted s much as possible with any new realm of knowledge.
With the interest for reading being manifest in the Century of the Light, by what the researches of this area have called “the fury of reading”. The authoress is presenting a copy of the Index Librorum Prohibitorum which contains all the formal procedures for the ban of books, usual in that period.
